Tunisia produces red wines principally - such as the grand cru Mornag - but also whites and rosés, in a region which surround Tunis.

Grape varieties such as carignan, cinsault, mourvèdre, syrah and alicante-bouschet mostly used for red wines.

Rosés, made from the grape variety alicante-grenache, are intensely fruity and count among the best in North Africa.

Tunsian whites range from sparkling white wine, muscatel (under the appellation Muscatel of Kelibia, to beldi, merseguéra, and pedro jimenez.
