About San Juan

Just after Mendoza, in quantity, this hot, dry region produces expressive and powerful, concentrated red wines from malbec, barbera, nebbiolo, berguignot, bonarda, lambrusco and syrah.

Its white wines range from the muscatel of Alexandria, to pedro jimenez, to viognier and to ugni blanco. The valleys near Pedernal, Calingasta and Ullum are very promising.
