About Southwest
Few wine regions in the world can compete with southwestern France, however the quantity of its red and white grape varieties, with rare exceptions, can be found nowhere else on the planet such the tannat, abouriou, arrufiat, côt, ondenc, duras, fer servadou, négrette, en de l'el, manseng, mauzac, courbu, lauzet or camaralet.
A feature: the region is spread, between Marmande, east of Bordeaux, up to boundaries of the Pyrenees mountains, in Basque country.
The vineyard of Cahors is universally known as the representative of southwestern wines. Nevertheless, several small vineyards have nice reputations with the amateurs with their procession of wines and winegrowers with very strong identity.
