About Anise Spirits
Anisette is a sweet liqueur made by macerating neutral grain spirit and sugar with sixteen seeds and plants with the main flavour being aniseed, from the anise plant. Its alcohol content is 25% ABV.
Its popularity rose after the ban of absinthe, and it was first made as a legal alternative to absinthe, and is the sweeter, less alcoholic of the absinthe alternatives of pastis and anisette. It can be drunk diluted with water.
