Founded by Jean-Baptiste Camus as La Grande Marque, a consortium, he alter added his name to the firm. Camus replied largely on sales to Tsarist Russia until the revolution. The wines are made from grapes in the Borderies region. The company is still family owned. Near bankruptcy in the 1960s, it was saved when Michael Camus struck a deal with Duty Free Shoppers.
