Between Florence and Montalcino, the landscapes of Tuscan hills represent undoubtedly one of the most bright symbols of the domestication of nature by the man. Wines of the region are in this picture, such them better Vino nobile di Montepulciano or of Chianti and Chianti classico, shimmering red wines especially the excellent sangiovese. A neighbouring variety of this grape variety, the grosso, is used to make the prestigious red wine Brunello di Montalcino, which is more approachable than the appellation Rosso di Montalcino.
