The Daïquiri
History in a glass with classic Cuban flair. A cocktail with a heritage, the Daiquiri was born in the Cuban sugar can fields as a rum-lime-sugar refresher for workers in the hot tropical climate. It quenched the thirst of freedom fighters during the 1898 Spanish-American War, carried in terra cotta bottles into the high mountains. The Daiquiri was “civilized” by Jennings S Cox Jr and FD Pagliuchi who shook it up over ice. La Floridita made it a city drink, adding a sophisticated touch of maraschino liqueur. But it was novelist Ernest Hemingway who put it on the world cocktail map when he wrote: “My Mojito at Bodeguita. My Daiquiri at La Floridita.”

You'll find here an amazing variety of the best rums available. A must try treat.
