EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE DES VINS ET SPIRITUEUX has established an online version of its amazing international collection of wines, spirits, vintage menus and books, glassware, labels, and ephemera, which has been housed on Île de Bendor in southern France since 1958.

The goal of this project is to bring EUVS founder Paul Ricard's wish to create a permanent encyclopaedia of the beverage industry into the 21st century by making these materials digitally available to a broad international audience.

Materials include: out-of-print cocktail, wine, and spirits books in searchable PDF format; menus dating from the 1860s to 1960s in searchable PDF format; wine and spirits labels in JPEG format; a searchable database of the EUVS collection of spirits and wine, including descriptions and photos.

Over the next two years, a team of 30 volunteers from around the world will be gathering and uploading information about each artifact. Searchable by category, name, description, and country, you can customise your visit to this ever-expanding body of knowledge.

This is an ongoing project throughout 2008 and 2009. So please return often to discover new sections and entries.
